Rebecca Harris

My work explores the abstracted nature of life, the partial glances and feelings for which I attempt to create a visual language. Often the work starts with a feeling or fractured thought - a day, a person, a memory - that I have no verbal means to express. Abstraction gives me the means with which to explore these ideas on many different levels and allows me to create my own abstracted landscape in which to wander.

Each work is a crystallization of that 'idea', the paintings serve as frozen moments in time - the visual language of the paintings stand as testimony to the forgotten, fragmented moments of the mind.
